Mike Hall was born to musical parents on New Years’ Day, 1954. From an early age music played a very important part in his life. At the age of three he was picking out melodies on the family piano and, indeed, it wasn’t long before he was having piano lessons with a local music teacher. A few years on and Mike had moved on to organ lessons – making weekly trips to Nottingham for many years of tuition. However, Mike would have to travel to Watford for his last music and organ teacher, the famous Lowrey organ exponent, Jerry Allen. As Mike recalls, “he was a great man and a tremendous player and musician, I will always appreciate what he was able to teach, tell and show me”! he's got his own webpage! www.organfax.co.uk/players/mikehall.html

Looks like Tobias Fünké to me... While in law school, Mike served as President of the Student Bar Association, and for two years he was co-producer of Law Revue, the law school's comedy variety show. He also was the law school's organizer for the Dean's Cup, the annual month-long multi-event competition between the UW Law School and Medical School, whose proceeds all go to charitable causes. At the end of his first year in law school, Mike won the George Young Memorial Award, and after his second and third law school years he won the Bruce Beilfuss Memorial Scholarship. Both honors recognized his outstanding service to the law school community. Prior to law school, Mike worked as an adjunct English instructor at St. Cloud State University and hosted a free-form public radio show for four years in St. Cloud. He also hosted a blues, soul, and jazz public radio show for six years in Bozeman, Montana. Mike has a long-time interest in law school student services and is greatly enjoying his work with the outstanding student body and staff at the University of Wisconsin Law School. He relishes the opportunity to continue the tradition of enrolling high-quality, diverse law classes made up of bright, talented, and good people.
