Man. The driven-by-snow mentality.
Which has now been replaced by driven-by-a-decent-night's-sleep mentality. Fuck snow, and definitely fuck getting up early for that inconvenient, slippery shit.

Snow is really over rated. Skating is far superior. I can go get a quick sesh in in the time it takes you just to drive to the mountain...

I have no idea if this is anything I would ever pursue, but something I read made me wonder...
In all seriousness, how do you think an adult who has never really skateboarded in their life would fare? The closest scenario I have heard of is of adults who shelved it as a kid and picked it up later. But what of a 35 year old n00b?

it all depends on what you want to do. You can pad up and just cruise around the bowl. There's 40+ year old dudes who do that quite often. If you just ride and do basic tricks you can have a lot of fun. Really it's almost better that you didn't skate before. I know people who try and start skating again and are bummed cause they can't shred like they used to. Really 35 isn't bad at all. Lance Mountain just turned 50. youtu.be/lM4FQ_FqEhQ

Dude, Neal is totally speaking my language. That's pretty much the mentality in which I would approach it. Form new neural pathways by challenging my mind to figure out something new, and build expertise at something completely unfamiliar. This guy has shit figured out.

There are a growing number of older skateboarders. I think in the next few years, having an older dude on the team will be almost as cool as having a little kid or a girl.
